AGC Aerospace & Defense Names Armstrong as New President & CEO of Composites & Aerostructures Group

AGC Aerospace & Defense is pleased to announce that Rick Armstrong has joined the company as President and CEO of its Composites & Aerostructures Group.  Armstrong brings 25 years of executive leadership and experience in the aerospace market.  He will be charged to lead AGC’s continued buildup of its global engineering and manufacturing business, consisting of the following companies: Unitech Composites, Integrated Composites, Paul Fabrications, and Hill AeroStructures.

“We are pleased that Rick is joining us to lead our Composites and Aerostructures Group.  His background in aerospace manufacturing and proven ability to strategically develop organizations makes him the ideal leader as we seek to continue to grow organically and through acquisitions,” said Rick Nagel, interim CEO and Managing Director at AGC.

“His track record of demonstrated success in business development, acquisitions and integration, achieving consistent financial results and developing shareholder value are critical components to succeeding in maintaining our position as an industry leader in innovation and sustainable growth,” added Jeff Davis, Partner with Acorn Growth Companies, which owns and manages AGC.

“It is an honor to join an industry leader experiencing record growth in a strategic market like composites and specialized metallic processing,” said Rick Armstrong.  “I look forward to building upon the AGC vision and strategically positioning the group for future growth.”

Prior to joining AGC, Mr. Armstrong was the Vice President of FlightSafety International from 2007 to 2013 where he managed the flight simulator engineering and manufacturing division with locations in Tulsa, OK, St. Louis, MO, and Austin, TX.    Before Flight Safety, Armstrong spent nearly 20 years with NORDAM serving a variety of separate divisions which included transparencies, composite manufacturing, and maintenance repair and overhaul.  While at NORDAM he served in a number of executive roles which included marketing, sales, business development, and Vice President and General Manager.

Armstrong has been appointed by the Governor of Oklahoma as a Commissioner to the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission, where he served as Chairman in 2011. He is also on the Executive board for the Oklahoma Aerospace and Defense Alliance and the Executive Board of the Oklahoma Business Roundtable.
